A famous British director and writer Shane Meadows highlighted at his own youth in this semi-autobiographical comedy drama movie that analyzes skinhead society in the U.k. It’s the mid year of 1983, and Shaun is a 12-year-old kid edging into pre-adulthood without a father, his father having lost his life the year before in the Falkland Islands War. A pack of skinheads –intense gentlemen in their adolescents and early twenties who shave their heads, wear Ben Sherman polo shirts, and Dr. Martens boots, and listen to ska music –walk the boulevards in Shaun’s neighborhood, and one day they begin picking on him. Shaun, then again, shows he can give tantamount to he gets, and group pioneer Woody takes a getting a kick out of the chance to the kid. Woody takes Shaun under his wing, and he begins hanging out with the skins, getting exhortation on dressing right from Woody’s better half, Lol, and taking in about Jamaican music from West Indian skinhead Milky.
